A Matting Solution for Every Space
Choosing the right entrance mat helps keep your building cleaner, safer, and more welcoming. Whether you need mats for a home, office, shop, warehouse, school, or commercial premises, there's a mat designed for every environment.
Improves Safety
Entrance mats act as the first line of defence against slips and falls by trapping water, dirt, and debris before they are carried indoors. This helps create safer walking surfaces, particularly during wet or snowy weather.
Protects Your Floors
By stopping moisture, grit, and dirt at the entrance, mats help reduce scratches, wear, and long-term damage to your flooring, lowering maintenance and replacement costs.
Keeps Buildings Cleaner
Quality entrance mats capture dirt and dust at the door, helping keep interiors cleaner while reducing the amount of cleaning required throughout the day.
Reduces Long-Term Costs
Less dirt inside means less cleaning, less floor maintenance, and a reduced risk of slip-related accidents, helping businesses save money over time.
Creates a Great First Impression
Available in a wide range of colours, styles, and branded designs, entrance mats enhance the appearance of any entrance while providing practical everyday protection.
Built for Everyday Use
Designed to withstand heavy foot traffic, quality entrance mats offer long-lasting performance in both residential and commercial environments.
More Sustainable Options
Many entrance mats are manufactured using recycled or recyclable materials, making them an environmentally friendly choice without compromising on durability or performance.
The Zone Principle
Choosing the right entrance mat is easy when you understand the Zone Principle. By placing the correct type of mat in each area of your entrance, you can maximise dirt and moisture removal before it reaches your floors.
Zone 1 – Outdoor Scraper Mats
Located outside the entrance, these mats remove larger dirt, mud, and debris from footwear. Around 40% of dirt and moisture can be removed within the first 1.5 metres.
Zone 2 – Scraper & Wiper Mats
Positioned just inside the doorway, these mats remove finer dirt while absorbing additional moisture left on shoes.
Zone 3 – Drying Mats
Placed further inside the building, drying mats absorb the remaining moisture, helping ensure footwear is dry within approximately 5 metres of walking.
Using all three zones creates a complete entrance matting system that improves safety, reduces cleaning costs, protects flooring, and extends the life of your floors.
How to Choose the Right Entrance Mat
The best entrance mat depends on where it will be used and the level of foot traffic it receives.
Indoor or Outdoor?
- Outdoor mats are designed to scrape away mud, grit, and debris before it enters the building.
- Indoor mats absorb moisture and capture finer dirt to keep floors clean and dry.
Consider Foot Traffic
For busy entrances, choose heavy-duty entrance mats designed to withstand constant daily use without losing performance.
Choose the Right Material
Different materials suit different environments:
- Coir – Excellent for scraping dirt from shoes.
- Rubber – Durable, weather-resistant, and ideal for outdoor use.
- Vinyl – Easy to clean and suitable for many commercial entrances.
Select the Correct Size
Larger entrance mats provide more contact with footwear, allowing them to remove more dirt and moisture. For busy entrances, thicker mats (typically 9mm or more) often provide the best performance.
