SafeGrip Anti-Slip Floor Treatment
SafeGrip Anti-Slip Floor Treatment
SafeGrip is a transparent, penetrating anti-slip floor treatment for slippery mineral-based floors and fittings. It reacts with the surface at a microscopic level to create millions of tiny pores, helping improve traction when the floor is wet.
Unlike an anti-slip coating, SafeGrip does not sit on top of the floor. There is no added layer to peel, flake or wear away, and most compatible surfaces retain their original appearance after treatment.
Suitable for homes, commercial premises and public spaces where wet-floor safety is a priority, SafeGrip can be applied with minimal disruption and no overnight curing period.

Key Features
Improves Wet-Floor Grip
SafeGrip micro-etches compatible hard surfaces at a microscopic level to help increase traction underfoot when the floor is wet. It is designed to help reduce slip risk in high-use wet areas without changing the floor profile.
Not a Surface Coating
SafeGrip treats the floor surface itself rather than applying a film over it. There is no coating to crack, peel or flake away over time.
Virtually Invisible Finish
On most compatible surfaces, the original appearance of the floor remains virtually unchanged. Tiles still look like tiles, stone still looks like stone, and there is no visible anti-slip layer.
Minimal Downtime
There is no curing period. Once the treated area has been rinsed and dried, it can usually be walked on within approximately 5–10 minutes, depending on temperature and ventilation.
Very Low Odour
SafeGrip has a very low odour, making it suitable for use in occupied homes, hospitality settings, care environments, schools, retail spaces and public buildings.
Made in the UK
Manufactured in the UK to premium quality standards with full traceability.

Approximate coverage is 15m² per litre, depending on the porosity, texture and condition of the surface being treated.
Installation Instructions
Before You Start
- Ensure the floor is clean, dry and free from dirt, grease, oil, wax, polish and existing coatings.
- Use Safe Kleen Multipurpose Cleaner or another suitable degreasing cleaner to prepare the surface thoroughly.
- Rinse the area well and allow it to dry fully before application.
- Protect adjacent surfaces, skirting boards and fittings from accidental contact.
- Ensure the area is adequately ventilated.
- Do not apply below 5°C.
- Always test a small, inconspicuous area first.
Application Method
- Pour SafeGrip into a clean, shallow container or applicator tray.
- Apply evenly using a clean mop, sponge, brush or short-pile paint roller.
- Work in manageable sections of approximately 2–3m² at a time.
- Ensure the full area remains wet with treatment, without allowing excessive puddling.
- Leave the treatment on the surface for approximately 2–5 minutes.
- Do not allow the treatment to dry during the dwell period. Apply a small additional amount if necessary to keep the surface wet.
- Rinse the treated area thoroughly with clean water to remove all residue.
- Remove excess water using a squeegee or wet vacuum, or allow the floor to air dry.
- The floor can usually be walked on once dry, typically within 5–10 minutes.
After Application
- Rinse all application equipment with water immediately after use.
- Clean treated floors as normal using regular cleaning methods.
- Use Safe Kleen Multipurpose Cleaner for best ongoing results.
- Avoid applying waxes, polishes or sealants over the treated surface, as these can reduce the anti-slip effect.
Please Note
- Always carry out a small test patch before treating the full surface.
- Coverage will vary depending on surface porosity, texture and condition.
- Do not use on wood, vinyl, linoleum, painted surfaces or surfaces with wax, polish or sealant present.
- Do not allow the product to dry on the floor during the application dwell period.

- Follow the product label and safety information before use.
What Is Safe-Grip?
Safe-Grip is a sophisticated chemical treatment designed to increase the slip-resistance of mineral surfaces. Unlike traditional anti-slip solutions, it is not a coating, paint, or varnish that can peel or flake away.
It works through micro-pore technology that creates thousands of invisible microscopic indentations on the surface. When the floor is wet, these micro-pores create a powerful suction effect underfoot, significantly increasing traction.
Safe-Grip is a mineral reactor and has no effect on non-mineral surfaces:

SafeGrip can be used on compatible external hard surfaces, including patios, paths, steps and pool surrounds. Outdoor surfaces may require more frequent cleaning to prevent dirt build-up.
-
The treatment works at a microscopic level. On most compatible surfaces, it does not create a noticeably rough or abrasive finish under normal use.

We've used SafeGrip on several commercial projects and it's become our go-to treatment for slippery tiled floors. Clients like the fact there's no visible coating and the floors can be back in use quickly.
We used SafeGrip throughout our care home's communal bathrooms to improve safety for residents. The application was straightforward, there was very little disruption and the results have been excellent.
We treated the porcelain tiles around our café toilets and the improvement has been excellent. It hasn't changed the look of the floor at all, but customers and staff both feel much safer.

SafeGrip works by permanently treating compatible mineral-based surfaces, helping to improve grip while preserving the floor's original appearance. Manufactured in the UK and trusted in homes, businesses and public buildings, it offers a simple, cost-effective way to create safer floors with minimal disruption and long-lasting results.
