concerned about slipping. I taped it 5mm from the edge so it would not
wear as quickly. I also left a few inches either side so the cats would
not have to walk down it.. I would recommend this

Ain’t no slippin’ on my steps
I used the anti slip tape on a stile ( to go over a fence from my
garden to a field) and it works fine, the stile can get slippy when wet
so the anti slip tape helps to stop this and get a good grip on
footwear.
