Benefits

Anti-slip decking strips offer several benefits, especially in environments where slip hazards are a concern. Here are some key advantages:

1. Safety Improvement: The primary purpose of anti-slip decking strips is to enhance safety by reducing the risk of slips and falls. These strips provide additional traction, making the surface safer, especially in wet or slippery conditions.

2. Versatility: Anti-slip decking strips can be installed on various decking materials, including wood, composite, and metal. This versatility allows them to be used in a wide range of environments, such as residential decks, commercial properties, ramps, stairs, and more.

3. Easy Installation: Most anti-slip decking strips are designed for easy installation. They often come with adhesive backing or can be secured with screws, making it a straightforward and cost-effective solution for improving safety on existing decks.

4. Durability: These strips are typically made from durable materials that can withstand weathering, UV exposure, and heavy foot traffic. This durability ensures a long-lasting solution for maintaining a safe walking surface.

5. Low Maintenance: Once installed, anti-slip decking strips generally require minimal maintenance. Regular cleaning may be sufficient to keep them effective, ensuring a long lifespan and continued safety benefits.

6. Aesthetic Appeal: Many anti-slip decking strips are designed to be visually appealing and can enhance the overall aesthetics of the deck. They come in various colours and styles, allowing you to choose options that complement your existing deck design.

7. Regulatory Compliance: In certain industries or regions, there are regulations and standards regarding slip resistance in public spaces. Using anti-slip decking strips can help ensure compliance with these regulations, avoiding potential legal issues and liabilities.

8. Cost-Effective Solution: Installing anti-slip decking strips is often more cost-effective than replacing the entire deck or installing other anti-slip surfaces. This makes it an efficient and budget-friendly way to improve safety.

9. Increased Property Value: In residential settings, a deck with enhanced safety features, such as anti-slip decking strips, may contribute to an increase in property value. Potential buyers often appreciate safety-conscious features in outdoor spaces.

10. Reduced Liability: For businesses and property owners, investing in anti-slip measures can reduce the risk of accidents on the premises. This, in turn, may help mitigate potential liability issues and associated costs.

In summary, anti-slip decking strips provide an effective and versatile solution for improving safety on decks and other outdoor surfaces, offering benefits such as increased traction, durability, ease of installation, and aesthetic enhancement.

Installation & Fixings

Cutting Process:

We can do this for you FREE of charge, However our non-slip decking strips can be easily tailored to your desired size or shape using a hacksaw. For larger quantities, consider utilising orbital cutting equipment with a stone or diamond blade. Ensure cutting takes place in an outdoor setting or an area with dust extraction and proper ventilation. Always wear appropriate protective equipment during the cutting process.

Preparation:

Before installation, thoroughly sweep and clean the designated area.

Mechanical Fixing:

If your Non-Slip Decking Strips come pre-drilled, holes will be positioned as indicated in point 1 below. Countersinking is unnecessary, as the pre-drilled holes allow screws to self-countersink when properly secured.

1. For optimal results, recommend fixing centrally, with a maximum distance of 50mm from each end and a maximum spacing of 250mm between the remaining holes.

2. When using a cordless screwdriver, ensure the correct torque setting to prevent over-tightening and stripping.

3. Achieve a snug fit by consecutively fastening screws either from left to right or right to left.

Miscellaneous:

These installation instructions serve as a guide and may not cover all aspects comprehensively. Always prioritise safe practices. It is advisable to test the suitability of any fixing method on a small area before proceeding with a full installation program.
